(ECNS) -- Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region's first full timetable for the China-Europe freight train was launched on Wednesday from Urumqi to Almaty in Kazakhstan.
Carrying 47 containers with a total of 767.7 tons of goods, the train was scheduled to run through Khorgos Port and arrive in Almaty on Thursday about 53 hours later, reducing more than 60 percent of travel time compared to ordinary China-Europe freight trains.
This is the first time that the schedules of China-Europe freight trains between Urumqi in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Almaty in Kazakhstan were fully connected across the whole network.
The full timetable for the China-Europe freight train has effectively improved traffic efficiency, and injected momentum into trade between Asia and Europe.
The full timetable for the China-Europe freight train between Urumqi and Almaty will run on every Wednesday, starting from March 6 to offer more stable schedules.
